Winston Lee, MD

Dr. Winston Lee was born and raised in New York City. After finishing Stuyvesant High School, he attended and graduated Cum Laude from Boston University with both BA and MD degrees in 1997. He completed his medical residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2000. After practicing hospital-based internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital, he returned to New York City to complete a 3-year fellowship program in nephrology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. At Mount Sinai, Dr. Lee received an additional year of training in clinical research as well as experience with the care of kidney transplant patients.

Dr. Lee was Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2000, and became Board Certified in Nephrology in 2003. He is a Fellow Member of the American Society of Nephrology. Throughout his medical career, Dr. Lee has published several articles on topics ranging from HIV associated nephropathy, hepatitis C, and kidney disease and contrast-induced renal failure. He is the director of clinical research for the Division of Nephrology at Maimonides Medical Center.

Dr. Lee is the medical director of the New York Artificial Kidney Center, a full-service hemodialysis unit for patients with end-stage renal disease requiring chronic dialysis. At NYU Medical at Columbus, in conjunction with Dr. Alexander Bangiev, Dr. Winston Lee offers a variety of consultative services in all aspects of Kidney Disease and Hypertension, treating patients from early kidney disease all the way through to dialysis treatments.
