Mikhail Kogan, MD

Dr. Mikhail Kogan is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and an Interventional Pain Management Specialist with extended expertise in lower back pain and cancer pain. Dr. Kogan earned his medical degree in Russia. After extensive surgical training he worked as an oncological surgeon at the regional cancer center. Dr. Kogan sees his career in the USA as an extension of his previous one.

Dr. Kogan completed his 3 year residency training at the prestigious St.Vincent's Medical Center in New York City, after which he went to do his fellowship in pain management at SUNY in Buffalo. He was trained by the world-renowned specialist in Pain Management Dr. Mark Lema, as well as Dr. Oscar DeLeon. The significant part of his training was done at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

In the year 2000 Dr. Kogan became a Clinical assistant Professor of Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Elmhurst Medical Center, Director of hospital pain management service. During the past six years, Dr. Kogan has developed pain management service into a premiere minimally invasive pain management practice with emphasis on minimally invasive spinal techniques. Dr. Kogan continues to keep abreast of the latest cutting edge spinal interventions including percutaneous disc decompressor, IDET and radio frequency neurolysis, as well as spinal implantable devises.

Together with academic practice, Dr. Kogan began private practice in Rego Park, Queens. While Dr. Kogan's education and certification attest to his knowledge, his patients' results are the justification and certification in this area. He is known for achieving dramatic improvement in pain without major surgery. His patients acknowledge him to be a compassionate, caring physician with an excellent bedside manner.

Dr. Kogan is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
