Rabia Arshad, MD

After receiving her Medical Degree, Dr. Rabia Arshad completed a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency program at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. Following her training in Internal Medicine, Dr. Arshad remained at St. Luke's to complete a 3-year Cardiology Fellowship, during which she received extensive training in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiology.

Additional training for Dr. Arshad also includes: Nuclear Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut; Cardiac PET/CT imaging at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts; and Coronary CT Angiography at Lenox Hills Hospital, New York, NY.

Dr. Arshad is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Board Certified in Cardiology and Board Certified in Nuclear Cardiology. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Rabia Arshad has published abstracts on Cardiac Arrhythmia in several leading peer-reviewed journals in the field, including Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology (PACE), the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Heart Rhythm, the official journal of the Heart Rhythm Society and the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society. Her research efforts on the subject of Cardiac Arrhythmia have been presented to such prestigious organizations as the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Arshad specializes in the comprehensive diagnosis of heart diseases and arrhythmias using a variety of cardiac stress protocols. Dr. Arshad is proficient in all types of stress testing, including Exercise Stress Tests, Nuclear Stress Tests, Echo Stress Tests, and PET Stress Tests. She is an expert in non-invasive coronary imaging techniques, such as CT Coronary Angiography, one of the most accurate tests for early detection of coronary artery disease. At Columbus Medical, Dr. Arshad is also a physician-in-charge for the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Dr. Arshad's advanced training with cardiac imaging methods and her extensive experience with non-invasive cardiac stress protocols allows her to offer the latest breakthroughs in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of Heart Diseases and Arrhythmias.
